Star Denies Anti-Vax Position Following Voicing Controversial Coronavirus Documentary
Liam Neeson has given his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of vaccinations and praises ex- government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Documentary's Provocative Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a well-known publication published by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for allegations that Covid was caused by a bad strain of the flu vaccine.
The publication's collaborator, a producer, has also written books with far-right media personality Alex Jones. Heckenlively recently posted celebrating Neeson's role in the documentary.
A Firm Denial
The team of the actor have provided a comment strongly denying implications that he subscribes to anti-vaccine views.
"We all acknowledge that misconduct might be present within the medical sector, but that cannot be confused with opposition to vaccines," the comment reads. "He never has been, and is not, against vaccines. His considerable work with the UN children's agency highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement added that the actor had no hand in the documentary's messaging and that concerns about its assertions are best addressed to the producers.
Key Themes In the Documentary
According to the documentary, the voiceover provided by Neeson includes several controversial claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
- It declares that "medical science has become deeply politicized."
- Kennedy is featured claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
- It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it references a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Previous Context and Ongoing Issues
The documentary further cites a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a correction by the network for violations of guidelines.
Last month, the political figure directed the national health agency to change its long-held position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the film, contrary to a new report from the global health body stating no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Statement of Endorsement
Standing in contrast to the film's narrative, Neeson has previously shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."
The film ends with Neeson's voice stating, "This marks not the finish of our story. Rather, it is the dawn of a new chapter."
